Before you start:
I am not responsible for anything that happens to your space when you try out this tutorial. If done incorrectly, it may spoil your space. Delete the blog entry you created doing this tutorial to revert your space to normal if anything goes wrong.
Now that we got that little bit clear, lets start Hacking our Blog entry:
First,
- Choose the image you wish to use as your blog background. This maybe one stored on your PC or one that already exists online; either way do the following:
- If the image is stored on your PC, you will need to upload it to the internet and get a www. address/ URL, Click here .
- If you want to use an image that already exists online on someone else's website; Please save the image to your PC and upload it as mentioned above (Please respect other's copyrights).
To keep things simple and not to delve too deep into HTML coding, just start off by typing out your blog entry as you normally would;
- After your done switch over to mode:
Add the following line of code right at the beginning:
<PRE><TABLE align="center" background="Image URL here" border="1"><TBODY><TR><TD>
For Eg.
<PRE><TABLE align="center" background="http://img168.imageshack.us/img168/3990/85ii6.jpg" border="1"><TBODY><TR><TD>
-Hit the button again to switch back to the blog editor and format your text according to the size or colour of your image.
-Press the 'Publish Entry' button to publish your blog entry.
That's all there is to it!
Note:-
- Try and get pictures which are approximately the same width (in px) as your blog panel. (Ideal widths are 400pix ~ 600pix)
- Be sure to back up your blog text by saving it as a draft before attempting Anything Like This!
- You may change the value of the border="1" to Nos. 2 - 6 for a thicker border."
